New?

Don't worry, we'll walk you through it

Yoga is for any-body!  By honoring yourself, this is proven.  This style of yoga is physically demanding yet simple  and adaptable. Yoga is a life long practice.  It's not about perfection or competition, it's about accessing your power, now!   Meet your body where it is and come from the place of possibility.  A compassionate and unstoppable attitude will transform your body and mind!  After the first few practices you can expect to be a bit sore.  The best cure for that is more yoga.  A regular practice of three time a week or more is ideal to break through limitations.  You will see that you develop core strength, endurance, flexibility and focus that will take your body and life to a new level.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear clothing that can handle sweat!  Baggy clothes can be cumbersome so clothing that is well fitted is best for this practice.

WHAT TO BRING

You will need a yoga mat, towel and a bottle of water!  Mats and towels are available to rent if you don't have your own.

YOGA AND NUTRITION /HYDRATION

Practice yoga on a fairly empty stomach. A light snack a few hours before your practice is best.  Stay hydrated during the day.  Try to limit the intake of liquids during your practice, small sips are easier on your stomach than large gulps.  After class, drink a lot of water and add electrolytes, especially if you sweat a lot.  A headache is often a sign of dehydration so, drink up.

ANITA'S NATURAL GATORADE RECIPE
2 Oranges squeezed
1  Lemon squeezed
1 TBLS Honey
2 Shakes of Salt
Add to 42 oz cup with water and ice
This will keep you hydrated for your practice!

YOGA AND HEAT

You will sweat. In most classes the room will be heated. The heat is a natural way for your muscles to stretch and help prevent injury. Now this is important!!!!  We use infrared heat panels to warm the room. Our heaters, like the sun, produce radiant heat waves which work to heat up water. Because our bodies are made up of mostly water, this infrared heat transfer is efficient and can help gently increase blood circulation, rid the body of toxins and even provide pain relief. Infrared is the most effective wavelength for healing the skin layers. It stimulates collagen production giving it it’s anti aging properties.

If at any time you feel dizzy, we ask that you take a resting pose.  This will allow your body to acclimate to the heat and to practice being with your experience.

YOU ARE READY NOW!

Whatever your background or your body's history, yoga is perfect for you now.  All poses are adaptable to you! There is nothing to prepare for, just be ready to do the work! Whatever your body needs, yoga will provide it-strength, flexibility, calm mind and much more.
